Il duo pianistico formato da Teresa Trevisan e Flavio Zaccaria ha debuttato nel 2002 al Festival Internazionale di Bitola (Macedonia) con l’esecuzione dei Concerti Brandeburghesi di Bach-Reger, in una rara trascrizione per pianoforte a quattro mani, più volte eseguiti in seguito con notevole successo di pubblico e critica.
Provenienti da scuole diverse, quella di Luciano Gante e Aquiles Delle Vigne per Teresa e di Eugenio Bagnoli, Ugo Amendola, Bruno Mezzena per Flavio, hanno unito le personali esperienze che li avevano precedentemente portati a confrontarsi con il principale repertorio e con le particolari difficoltà proprie di questa delicata formazione, “…la cifra stilistica del duo è un’estrema cura nel modellare i timbri, il che costituisce il naturale tramite tra il loro pianismo e il livello spirituale dell’ascoltatore… l’invidiabile precisione e la sorprendente amalgama dei registri sonori con il fluire delle linee musicali… il delicato fluire espressivo, la stupefacente raffinatezza della paletta timbrica, la plasticità del tempo…” dalla rivista musicale “Orizzonti della musica”- (Sofia) Maggio 2013 “… creano una compagine ideale e l’esecuzione è di chiarezza cristallina nelle sezioni contrappuntistiche… si fondono tecnicamente in un raffinato ensemble pianistico, pieno di arte e di poesia, con intelligente equilibrio..” dalla rivista musicale “Piano Journal” (Londra) 2013 n.100.
Dediti ad approfondire un repertorio meno frequentato, hanno inciso per Velut Luna brani per Pianoforte a quattro mani di Max Reger. L’esecuzione della Suite op.16 di Reger è valsa al duo il conferimento della Menzione d’Onore alla 2006 Web Concert Hall Competition (USA).
Nel 2016 é uscito per Limen Music un CD/DVD contenente le opere per due pianoforti di Ferruccio Busoni, incisione che inizia una serie dedicata ai grandi autori del primo ‘900. Sempre per Limen Music é stato pubblicato nel 2022 un CD dedicato alle opere di Max Reger per due pianoforti.
Teresa Trevisan e Flavio Zaccaria sono stati per lungo tempo docenti di pianoforte al Conservatorio di Musica “G. Tartini” di Trieste. In precedenza Teresa aveva prestato servizio presso i Conservatori di Bergamo, Foggia, Sassari e Udine; Flavio a Adria, Castelfranco Veneto e Venezia.
Negli anni sono stati invitati sono stati invitati a tenere masterclasses di pianoforte e duo pianistico presso l’Università di Oulu in Finlandia, il Conservatorio Superior de Musica “Manuel Massotti Littel” di Murcia in Spagna, l’Accademia Lituana di Musica e Teatro di Vilnius (Lituania), la Yasar University di Smirne, il Conservatoire Royal de Mons (Belgio), la Sofia Music Academy, il CIT Cork School of Music, il Konservatorium e l’Università di Vienna, il Trinity Laban College di Londra, il Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Canarias (Las Palmas), l’Academy of Music UNSA di Sarajevo, l’Academy of Music di Novi Sad, l’Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz, il Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles e, tramite videoconferenza, la Texas Christian University di Fort Worth (USA).
Dal 2009 il duo ha collaborato con il GARR allo sviluppo del progetto LOLA (Low Latency) che studia la possibilità di collegamenti audio-video a distanza in tempo reale. Nel novembre 2010 é stato protagonista della prima esecuzione mondiale a distanza realizzata tra l’IRCAM di Parigi ed il Conservatorio Tartini di Trieste.

The piano duo Teresa Trevisan and Flavio Zaccaria made their debut in 2002 at the Bitola International Festival (Macedonia) with a performance of Bach-Reger’s Brandenburg Concertos, in a rare transcription for piano four hands. They have since then performed it several times, to considerable public and critical acclaim.
Coming from different schools – for Teresa Luciano Gante and Aquiles Delle Vigne; for Flavio, Eugenio Bagnoli, Ugo Amendola, and Bruno Mezzena – they combined their personal experiences that had previously led them to tackle the core repertoire and the particular challenges inherent to this delicate formation.

Dedicated to exploring lesser-known repertoire, they have recorded pieces for Piano four hands by Max Reger for Velut Luna. Their performance of Reger’s Suite Op. 16 earned the duo an Honorable Mention at the 2006 Web Concert Hall Competition (USA).
In 2016, Limen Music released a CD/DVD featuring Ferruccio Busoni’s works for two pianos, the first recording in a series dedicated to the great composers of the early 20th century. Limen Music also released a CD of Max Reger’s works for two pianos in 2022.
A CD devoted to Bartok and Rachmaninoff for two pianos and percussion is about to be released by the same label.
Teresa Trevisan and Flavio Zaccaria were longtime piano teachers at the “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory of Music in Trieste. Teresa previously taught at the conservatories of Bergamo, Foggia, Sassari and Udine whereas Flavio taught at Adria, Castelfranco Veneto, and Venice.

Since 2009, the duo has collaborated with GARR on the development of the LOLA (Low Latency) project, which studies the possibility of real-time remote audio-video connections. In November 2010 he was the protagonist of the world’s first remote performance held between IRCAM in Paris and the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste.
